My husband and I are hoping to visit Belize in early May, splitting time between the Cayo District and a good snorkeling area. We've considered spending 3 days on either Southwater or Tobacco Caye, but wonder if they were impacted by the recent hurricane. Also, if we want easy access to snorkeling (without spending a tremendous amount of money), are these our best bets?

I have clients on Tobacco Caye right now. They are spending a week at Ocean's Edge Lodge and by all accounts having a great time. Take a look at my post regarding the updates and photographs taken this Monday (16th October) to see how well the clean up is going already. It is still early days, so by next May you wont even know a hurricane passed through.
