I just receive my new Guide to Mainland Belize by Lan Sluder of Belize First.
Lan, it is great, love your reference to Royal Rat on page 28. Thanks for all your good work and information.

You're welcome. And thanks for the nice words. Hope you find it to be accurate and that you get a chance to use it often on travels to Belize.

By the way, I just got yesterday a fresh copy of the new edition of Fodor's Belize & Guatemala Guide, which I updated and revised for Random House. Unfortunately, that went to press before Hurricane Keith, so the information on Ambergris Caye doesn't reflect anything that happened due to the storm. However, most everything covered in the guide is likely to be back in operation within a short time.

In both books, I did manage to get in some plugs for Marty's AmbergrisCaye.com!

Lan I noticed your plugs, for Marty and alot of other websites for clothing and etc.
Those are very helpful. I read your books with a highlighter in hand, so I can quickly find the info I will need later. I loved you using "unbelizeable".

Chloe: I too have a highlighted copy of Unbelizable and have found it to be amazing and accurate. I am sure that this new one will live up to the same scrutiny.

Lan,
I'd like to get a copy of it as well. Where is it for sale and does it include any info as to the regularity of flights in and out of Belize; i.e- to Costa Rica, Guatemela, Cancun?

Daemyon,

It's available on-line from Amazon.com, or you can order directly from us and save the shipping cost.

There's a little in it on flights from Cancun and Tikal. Aerocaribe from Cancun, and there are three or four little airlines (including Tropic and Maya Island) that fly from Flores to Belize City. For Costa Rica, basically your choice is TACA via San Salvador.

The latest information, though, would be on Expedia or one of the other on-line res systems.

Bottom line is that there isn't much service from anywhere to Belize City (other than from Houston, DFW and Miami.)
