Thanks for the Lobster info. Got Butter?
Now how often are Dolpins spotted? Don't know if I should include them in my designs.

Can't answer that one, Mango. Suggest try emailing one of the dive shop operators. Link is on the AC website. Maybe Dr. Sal Mazzullo could help. He is the expert on the reef and its inhabitants.

Hi Janeinpa:

Looking for the fish that has very bright colors. Can't remember where I saw it. Maybe on E- when they did the Models in Belize but it was very colorful and was mentioned by name.

Try clicking on 'Barrier Reef" on the home page of this site. You will find 33 pages of underwater photographs, many colorful fish. Hope this helps

Chloe...I clicked that barrier reef link you mentioned and did not see any of them underware photographs. Oh shit now I see you wrote "underwater" photographs. Man you got me so excited, I thought I had a chance to see Susie in her bloomers!

I heard my name mentioned in the chat room....glad to see it wasn't blasphemous (at least, not yet, anyway). Dolphins? Yes, you spot them all the time around San Pedro. Sitting at Estel's early in the morning, they're often seen swimming south, close to shore, likely chasing sardines for their breakfast while Charlie or Estel pour me yet another ten gallon jug of coffee to help alleviate my hangov..I mean, my..."allergies". Later in the day they're usually farther out from shore, in slightly cooler water. We see them in the back (Chetumal Bay) as well, most frequently following the sugar barges past Mosquito Caye. You can reserve dolphin sightings by dialing 1-800-FLIPPER (at least, that's what I've often told some of my brain synapse-challenged students).

Dr. Sal,

I'll have to try the outside tables at Estels. (I'm usually inside where it is much darker, and only Charlie's music nurses my "allergies"). Now here's the rub...I have sat on our veranda and watched the sun come up over the reef 30-45 days a year for the past 6 years. I am ALWAYS out there by 5:30 am, and have never seen any dolphins. I do not doubt you, that is not the point. We are VERY close to barge landing which I suspect is reason enough for the creatures to stay away. Have you any knowledge of am sightings south of the airport?

CHOOCHOO: Your "allergies" must affect your vision! There are a group of 3-4 dolphins that feed close in to the end of Caribbean Villas dock... right in front of your verandah! Everyday! Midday... probably your naptime. Good viewing from Coconuts Beach Bar.
