Does anyone know of a new 5-star resort currently in development or construction on the mainland? I have heard rumors of this but don't know the name, where or when? Does anyone have info?

Well, there are new three upscale resorts near Hopkins -- Kantanik being the most deluxe of the three. It's an all-inclusive with planned rates of US$300 per person per day. Several places planned in Cayo. Turtle Inn in Placencia will be totally redone under Coppola's new ownership. Of course the resort on North Ambergris that the government is supposed to be helping fund.

With the economy in the U.S. tanking, it's possible any project not underway now could be put on hold.

I have heard about Kantanik and Hamanasi - which is the third new resort you mention. Many thanks in advance for your help. I will be there in a few weeks and want to check out all the new places.
