Planning our second trip to Ambergris. The last trip was in 1998. At that time the sea grass made it impossible/non-inviting to swim from the shore. Has anything been done to get rid of the sea grass at any of the beaches so we can enter from shore???

Best to enter the water at the end of any pier, where the water is about 5' deep and the seagrass is usually less noticeable. It helps if you are aware that the seagrass is a vital part of the ecosystem and provides cover for many young of a number of sea animals that otherwise would perish.

Well said Jesse!!! The sea grass is a good thing. Means the reef is healthy. Swimming off the docks is not bad. Many have artificial reefs so you can see a few critters. The grass is just along the shore. There is little to none off the end of the docks.
