I found this web site this morning while looking for vacation ideas and am hooked--ready to get on a plane today! Would like information/ideas on when the best time of year to visit and some of the highlights for a "newbee" not to miss (for what I hope to be the first of many trips) Interested in r&r, local attractions, good food & diving.

bRIEFLY...

Investigate placencia or Maya Beach[Singing Sands Inn]if you want a seriously languid and laid back place for a few days, then on to Ambergris for the crazy blowout. Go pricey on placencia, then cheap on Ambergris and don't spend a lot of time in your room.

U will not be disappointed

Hi, myself and my girlfriend have decided to visit Ambergris in October. It will be my 30th birthday and we have recently discovered the joys of diving. Looking at this site has made our minds up for us. Does anyone have any good tips on making this a really special vistit.

If you want to optimize the available seafood factor it is probably best, for the summer traveler, to go after June 15th and before July first to catch both Lobster & Conch ! We got lucky last year and hit it just right!

Why before July first? Is that when conch season ends?

Sunshine-
Hey, how lucky for you to have stumbled upon this website! If you are serious and really do visit AC you will be very pleasantly surprised. You must visit! The diving is indescribably good, the food is great (use the search feature at the top right of the screen for advice on where to eat) and the people are the best part! I mean by that, the locals and the tourists! Most everyone there seems to be happy as a clam on a regular basis. Not so strange, you'll understand when you get there. It's a great way to spend your vacation money and almost certainly you'll return.
There is so much info on this website, by the time you get there you will feel like you know it all!

Welcome!
