Would appreciate advice on getting from International airport to Cayo. Our resort charges $140 for 1-4 people and if only 2 of us are there to go, we will have to pay the whole fare. Is there a better way? We don't mind paying a fair price and we don't want to go on a "local" bus either. Also prefer not to be saddled with a car. Any advice please?
Check out Bill Butcher at the Aguada Hotel, he has a reasonable shuttle. aguada@btl.net I'm not sure of the prices, but he can fill you in. We have used him for our Casino trips Cayo to Belize City. Rod

When you say "local" bus, are you referring to the passengers or all the stops. There is "express" service to Cayo. Buses are the most economical way to get around.
Thank you both. I'll try and get to Bill Butcher. Also...by "local" I mean the bus that isn't express, i.e. the local bus would stop a lot. We're Ok with an express bus but how would I get the express bus schedule? Thx. much!
Go to Search function and type in "Bus Schedule" I have used both forms of bus travel and really prefer the local style, as I saw more of the country, and was able to talk to the residents. Learned alot about Belize this way.
The "local bus" is the best! My first trip to Belize as a single Mum, with 2 kids, we took the local bus. It's great! Yes, it stops for folks along the way, takes a bit longer but is a wonderful way to go to San Ignacio. Take the time, slow down and look out the window....
