#13724 - 02/06/01 12:04 PM Inn at Robert's Grove - which room?
Iza Offline
We are planning a stay at Robert's Grove in early July. How are the standard rooms on the first floor there? Will it be adequate for 2 adults and a 7 year old child? Or should we upgrade to a second floor or a junior suite? What are the differences between these rooms? Their website doesn't really have any descriptions of the rooms.
Also, they have a package including transfers from Belize City, meals and a couple of tours. Is it a good idea to get that? My impression is that there aren't too many other places to eat in that area. I also heard that food at Robert's Grove is good and we would end up eating there anyway.
I will appreciate any opinions.

Most people think the upgrade to the junior suite is well worth the money, preferably a corner suite.

I would NOT get a meal package. The food at Robert's Grove is good, but there are many good places to eat, in all price ranges, in Placencia.

Maya Beach is a string of resorts--not a town. You're right, the area is a little isolated. The meal, transfers and tours option sounds good, especially if they give you some wiggle room. Like 5 dinners in 7 nights.
All the resorts on the beach are worthy of visits as are several others south of Seine Bight
Mangoes beach bar is a world class barefoot beach bar.
Singing Sands has very good local fare.
Don't set your sights too high. This is an isolated, rustic environment. If you're easily amused you'll have a great time
