HELP, PLEASE! My family (including daughters/boyfriends 17 & 21 years) are planning a stay in AC in July 2002. Have never been there before and need suggestions on lodging! Must have air cond/freshwater pool/great beach and roomy/nice accomodations. Probably want south side for convenience to San Pedro?? Want nice, but probably not prepared to spend the $$$ for Victoria??? Let me hear what you think!

I suggest that you hit the 'Lodging' link above. On that page you can sort the list of hotels several ways. I would suggest sorting it by price.

I reccomend Paradise Villas for a group your size. They have some nice two bedroom condos, plus a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. All units come with a fully equipted kitchen and good sized bathroom. Beautiful grounds, close to town (which I'm sure your daughter will appreciate). The pool there is fantastic. I would book through Susan Garcia as her prices are cheaper than Tradewinds. Melissa

you mentioned banyan bay. that is supposed to be very nice and highly recommended. slightly nicer than p-villas, (which i have heard both good & bad about), is the palms. check out their new web site. marty did the photos. it is cool.

I, too, labored over this decision. It really boils down to what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. We didn't spend much time at our hotel, so I didn't really look into upscale places...I prefer to spend my $$ on other things.

We were perfectly happy at Seven Seas. Great staff, beautiful grounds, reasonably priced, but not fancy. If you want nicer accomodations, try Fountain Blue or Banana Beach.

I believe Lan has a pretty exhaustive rating of accomodations on AC on the Belize First link. Do your homework, use the search feature, and email your top prospects for info. Good luck. You will enjoy no matter where you put your feet up.

I recommend Caribe Island Resort. They have rooms that accommodate from 2 - 11. They are less expensive than many of the other places that you have mentioned. They also have fresh water pool, dive shop, dock, nice beach, restaurant, bar, AC, TV, and kitchens & living areas in the rooms. I know that they are listed on www.belize-vacations.com.
