Happy Belizean Independence Day to all!

I have never felt patriotism to my country the way you Americans feel it. Proud of you guys.

Strange that I know the American Anthem far better than I do my own.

Someone please help me fill in the blanks with the Belizean National Anthem.

Our National Anthem goes like this:

O, Land of the free by the Carib Sea
Our manhood we pledge to thy Liberty
No tyrants here linger, DESPOTS MUST FLEE
This tranquil haven of democracy
.........................................
brought freedom from slavery opression.....
By the might of ...... and the grace of God
No longer shall we be.................
Arise ye sons of the baymen clan
Put on your armor clear the land
DRIVE BACK THE TYRANTS, LET DESPOTS FLEE
Land of the FREE by the Carib Sea

I must believe that the Government in Belize takes our Belizean anthem seriously especially at this time when the world wants to rid the world of terrorists.

I`m happy to help you out.

O land of the free by carib Sea
our manhood we pledge to thy liberty!
No tyrants here linger, despots must flee
The blood of our sires whch hallows the sod,
Brougt freedom from savery oppression`s rod,
Bythe migh of truth and the gace of God.
No longer shall we hewers of wood.

Arise! ye sons of the Baymen`s clan,
put on your armour, clear the land!
Drive back the tyrants, let despots flee-
Land of the Free by Carib Sae!

Nature has blessed thee with wealth untold,
Oer mountains and valleys where praries roll;
Our fathers, the Baymen, valiant and bold
Drove back the invader; this heritage hold
From proud Rio Hondo to old Sarstoon`
Through coral isle, over blue lagon;
Keep wath with the angels, the stars and moon;
For freedom comes tomorro`s noon.

Thank you so much Bernd.
I take it you are a Belizean?
Today is Belizean Independence Day.
We all celebrate independence but in reality
we are all so totally interdependent on each other as human beings. Belize it or not!

Dear LzbLady,
I know some question coming up and it is not easy for me to answer.
First, I`m German but what can I do for or against this?
Nothing!!
So it is better I call myself a human being.
A independent human being.
I`m still a proud German.
I will meet your Country first time 15.of October 2001.
If I visit a Country------ I have to know something about this Country, the people, the feelings, the culture, the nation, the government, the hole situation in this )beautiful Country.
So I did my homework.
Maybe I`m not a normal men,------- what is normal?
I really like to meet you somewhere, sometimes in this small world, to talk, and if we can , change something to the better.
In my own word:
The biggest enemy of the humen being is the humen being, if yu want to defeat him, defeat yourself.
Hopfully you understand what I`m talking about, my English is not that good.
God bless America and all freedom loving Countrys.
Your German friend Bernd

You are so welcome to our country.
You did your homework well.
I lived in Belize for so long and you know, I never learned as much about Belize as I am learning now. Between work and taking care of kids there was not much time for travelling within my own country. I feel so ashamed when I am in an airplane and hear foreigners talk about my country because they know so much. I guess it is never too late to learn.

Hey BzeLady,
never feel ashamed, we all can and have to learn our hole live.
I think, if you don`t feel patriotism to your country the same way like Americans is my answer: The American patriotism is unique, today more then ever.
Be proud, you are Belizian, with thausends of years of unbelievable culture, try to get some kowledge, raise your? kids, (more importend then sometling else)and at least you are a human being with mistakes and weakness like all of as.
Have a good weekend,
Bernd
