Hey Zeke,

It has been a while since I have been here but I suppose it is time to begin doing the things that used to fill my day.

Your post made me sad and then it made me smile, for it reminded me so much of my many wonderful New Yorker friends, some of whom live all over the country and some of whom live in a city whose streets they do not recognize anymore. My one friend comes from a long line of New York City firefighters- it is in his blood. His loss is profound but his courage is remarkable. He's a good Irish Catholic kid whose retired Dad raised 5 kids on a firemans salary and his brother now fights with New York's bravest in the horror they call "ground zero". I speak with my co workers in the financial district who say that taking the subway every day with pictures still pasted to the walls is sometimes too much to bear.

I am glad to see that Marty has allowed the "venting" process to continue a little longer. I think the next several weeks will bring closure for many people and we will see a return to normalcy. The wounds will take a long time to heal but for now, I think it is okay for people to still keep talking about it. I know it helps me to come read all of your thoughts and share soem of my own.
