Now you know why we where so upset thinking the resort would never open! We have been to Basil Jones and know how beautiful it is up there and how nice the Tiki Villas are.

Smokey was killed last night...just found him this morning.

That cat has been all over the world with me...thru thick and thin...was always there to listen to me...and gave me no lip service back. He was an amazing cat....never find another one like him.

I'm sorry its taken a few days to get back to you, but I've asked some people out on San Pedro what they could find out about the Basil Jones
Resort. This information is second hand, but here is what we've found:
Gary Carlson reportedly left the project a month ago, and Adam Chandler has "disappeared." A new project director is due to arrive in the next few weeks. His name is Mike Johnson, and I was told he can be reached at:

The project has 6 or 8 nearly complete buildings, but I was told that the bank has stopped lending money for construction and the builder is owed a large sum of money so he stopped work until he gets paid. The buildings and grounds are not complete, the pool has not been built, etc. It doesn't sound like it will be livable in two weeks for your trip.
I do not know the reliability of this information, but this is what they are saying on San Pedro.

Someone more familiar than I with the saga of
Adam Chandler should 1) write something up for Timesharing Today, and 2) submit the info to www.crimeshare.net , the UK-based website for exposing fraud in the timeshare business. Chandler is apparently British, so this would be quite appropriate.

Frankly, I never thought BJR had a shot in Hell, regardless of the good/bad intentions of the developers. But, if individual owners are ready to bail out, I might consider taking a flyer on this longshot.
