went to AC the first time in May & back again 2 months later in July & missing it ever since...finding this board & all your posts made me feel like I'm back there again & for that I want to thank you all

Cheri, yes, we met in July...I'm Gina, a fellow Texan who is longing for the island like you...but I am a true beach lover!!! I was born on the coast of Texas and grew up playing on the beach...most of our vacations have been to beaches, and even if sp doesn't have the 'most beautiful' beaches by traditional standards, it's more the atmosphere, the friendly, relaxed pace and people...very welcoming & it keeps you wanting to go back (or stay there, like you're planning to do!)

ya decided on NY eve yet? we're gonna be in Dallas, can't decide whether to go out or not, weather's lookin iffy...happy new year's to you, wherever you may go!

IJ, we were there May 24-28, so we may have shared a bar somewhere!!! we tried to spread the wealth among as many as possible...BC's was a definite favorite, tho, great burritos to go w/the great drinks & friendly people..if we're ever there again at the same time, hope to meet you

Gay, how lucky for you to be so close to the beach! we are up in E.Tex now, lived near Victoria, then Houston til I was 10, but definitely spent many vacations at Galveston, from Crystal Beach, to Freeport, Matagorda all the way to Padre Island, we romped at all of em & loved them all, tho some were definitely better 'beaches' than others

I've been to Nassau, Jamaica, Cancun, the Atlantic beaches of Fla & the Pacific beaches of Cal & Mexico & I'd still say that the Gulf beaches of Fla are among the most pristine...still you just can't beat the welcoming atmosphere found there on SP...the people (locals & visitors alike) are so laid back, just like the folks I remember growing up around...must be something in the sea air that just calms the soul..now wonder we all want to go back!
