Since my first visit to Belize was spent entirely on A.C., I would like to split up my next vacation - half on A.C. and half in the Placencia area. What is the best way to travel to Placenica from A.C.?

You can fly to Belize City municipal and then fly to the Placencia air strip. Or you could rent a car and drive (the Hummingbird Highway route is Belize's most scenic drive). Or you could take a bus, though connections to Placencia are not that great.

Thanks Lan. Do you know how long the drive takes?

I most recently drove it (both routes -- Hummingbird and the Coastal Highway) about two weeks ago. It took maybe 3 hours the coastal road and 3 1/2 hours the Hummingbird. The exact time depends on construction on the Southern Highway south of Hopkins and also the condition of the road to Placencia and also of the coastal road -- rains will delay you.
