Hello all. First trip to Belize - arriving in 3 days, 22 hours and 33 minutes (give or take.) Can you tell I am a bit excited? We are going to AC first for 2-3 days, then the interior (Cayo) for 2 days, and the plan has been to spend the last 2-3 days in Placencia. We are in Belize for 10 days total, so I have built in travel days. My questions are:
1. Do you think this is a bit much? We don't want to come home exhausted, but want to see as much as possible!
2. Any hotel recommendations? We are looking for inexpensive (hopefully around $60 max) but definitely on the beach. I have been on www.placencia.com but it seems so many are still shut after Iris.
All advice very welcome!
Thanks.

As of Nov 24, the water was still not on in Placencia and they weren't letting tourists in. Our neighbors have family in Placencia and this is what they told us. Lots can happen in the meantime, if you're on AC, you can call to Placencia and find out/make reservations. If Placencia is a no-go, try Caye Caulker.

As of today, there is water pipeline service in Placencia. Seine Bight Village should get its water service in a week. Still no land line phone service.

Serenade Guest House in Placencia is open and ready for business.

I talked to the village about 4 days ago and water was on as was some phone service.

It's on the beach in Placencia on the sidewalk.

If you really want to try something ask them if you can stay at the caye.

Enjoy
