We are having trouble getting insurance for our motorcycles while in Belize. Sanborn's don't offer it. Is there anyplace in the states we can contact to get insurance before we get to Belize border? Is motorcycle insurance available at border? HELP!!!!

You can buy auto insurance at the Chet/Coro border crossing. I don't know about motorcycle insurance. I would think you could get it there, though there are few motorcycles in Belize.

There are a lot of scooters in Belize City.....there must be something available for motorcycles.

If they don't have it...maybe they can tell you where to go to get it. Maybe you could make arrangements to have it prior to entering the country.

Hey Charlene; for "a cheap place", the boys use the "Marie Delores", no air, bottom of the line, for a down scale week-end with the wife, The "Real Azteca", lower mid-range, across the street from the museum(free on Sundays), unless things have changed it would be a good place to do some PM on the bikes, then there is "Los Cocos" for a 2nd honeymoon, up scale and has just been remodeled, near museum, it would be a good place to recover a few days after the long ride. All are clean, all with off street parking, all are downtown with good food nearby.
