I notice that IX Chel on the Macal River has locked
their gates to guests. Ix Chel Farm will continue to
deal in conservation, traditional healing, the
manufacture of rainforest remedy products. They will
possibly conduct school field trips. But no more
tourists. After 18 years, they say the high cost of
doing business on the Macal River has forced them to
lock their gates. As of May 1st, the public access
road, or river access will be denied to the public.
