hello, i was wondering if anyone on the board is familiar with the Maya Beach area? if so does anyone know if water has been piped that far north yet? any info is appriciated.

Maya Beach was hit pretty bad during Hurricane Iris. I'm not sure how much they've recovered. Placencia is supposed to have the best water in belize; I think they have their own water supply. Although maya Beach is close, I'm not sure where they get their water from.

FYI--- Water for Placencia Village originates across the lagoon in Independence Village. One well with one pump.

Maya Beach is not connected to the municipal water supply. The water supply source up that way is from rain catchment.

ckocian, thanks for the info. i knew the municipal water didn't travel that far north in the past, but i got some information that it does now. thanks for clearing this up.
