the meat pies....I put Black Uhuru in for the drive to work this morning...it brought back memories of my favorite room at Ruby's, #14 and getting up, running down to Celi's for meat pies and watermelon juice for breakfast...'sitting on the dock of the bay' enjoying my breakfast and watching the beach come to life. Ya know that 1st deep breath you take when they open the doors of the plane and you step out? I'm having withdrawl...3 1/2 more long mos. til I return. Supposedly your sense of smell is the one that can evoke the strongest memories--do you know what I mean by the way the air smells in Belize?

Don't forget Celi's Deli's cinnamon rolls - not usually baked until after 2 in the afternoon but well worth the wait. Yum!

I know exactly what you mean by the smell of the air. Actually I think it is the smell of green, so oxygen laden that it is intoxicating.

The first time I arrived in Belize and came down the stairs of the TACA plane I knew I was home. I ditched the touristy plans I had and instead made a beeline to the real estate office. The rest is history...

Oh yes, the meat pies. I once missed a bus in Belize City because I was out searching for a bag of meat pies. The taxi fare for the search was more than the price of the bus. hahahaha Must have meat pies. Bite sized, warm and gooey meat pies with that wonderful crust. Sooooo tasty.

i know rubys is cheap, but is it decent to stay at and close to bars... and is it too close to the airport where if I layout it is noisy with airplanes all day long? Or is it better to stay further away from the town to avoid airplane noise all day? please let me know keliengleson@realtyexecutives.com

What is it that you want to know about travelling alone to San Pedro? I've done it many times and I'm about to do it again. Just ask us some specific questions and you'll get a ton of answers. No worries there . . .or here. smile

BTW, there is a very weird and I do mean weird person that stalks the message board. His name is Steve Soma but he goes by a bunch of different names. As soon as he scores an email address off the board he begins to send all kinds of horrible mail about Belize. It's sick and it's scary. If I were you, I'd immediately go into your posts and edit *out* your email address. People will help you a lot on the board and you shouldn't really need to get email that will put you in danger of that sicko invading your world.
