Yes, I know this is a Belize board. but some of you must have been to CR. We're going to Jaco, CR area soon. Tell me about some things we should and should not do. Tours, guides, cafes..or just good memories. Digame.

It would be a long drive, but Arenal volcano puts on a pretty good show. Have a seat at the swim up pool bar, order a cocktail and enjoy. Montverde cloud forest was nice as well. Diving was good, saw some huge Bull sharks! As with most CA countries, road conditions aren't great, so give yourself plenty of time.

i wouldn't even think about making the drive from
Jaco to Arenal and back as a day trip. Spend the night and come back the next day.

Absolutely spend the night, that's when the volcano's at it's best. That's what I meant by give yourself plenty of time, trying to do a day trip to most places would be no vacation.

Hi Frank: I am leaving in 4 days for a 10 day adventure in Costa Rica. Never been there and really wish I was going to AC (ha ha), but you know the old story - so many places to go! I am not going to Pacific Coast, but will be at Arenal, Fortuna, Tabacon (yes, getting a full spa treatment and relaxing in their hot springs while hopefully watching an active volcano giving me a show), and the Caribbean side for several days. Got to get in the reggae fix. Pick yourself up a copy of Lonely Planet Travel Guide to CR. Very informative. The message board for CR sucks compared to this one.

I have heard lots of good and lots of bad, but I think one has to go see for themself. Lobster on Turkey Day for me!

The jungle canopy tour is a must. Also a trip down the palo alto river was lots of fun. Saw lots of crocks and things.
