Anyone out there been to Five Sisters? Looks great on the website, but would like some feedback before I book. Thanks!

I've been to Five Sisters many times but have never stayed there. I know several of the regulars on this board have stayed there. My take is that it's a very good, beautifully situated, Belizean-owned lodge. Good food, too.

Definitely go there! It's a gorgeous place, very unique. It has a beautiful swimming area, with five waterfalls of various sizes (from which the resort gets its name) and deep water pools. I understand that the owner has installed a tram since we were last there a few years ago, we had to walk about 200 steps up and down to get to and from the falls (great exercise!). The cabanas are cute, comfortable and the food was fantastic. Very reasonably priced also...The honeymoon cabana overlooks the falls and is a very romantic scenario. The resort is powered by a hydroelectric setup that the owner built.

thanks Islenutt! Susan is right, it looks great, and so reasonable. I only have a week this time, just long enough to become acquainted with AC, but next time would like to visit mainland, as well as return to AC. Would love to see Tikal, Caracol, and Barton Creek cave, and just soak up the natural beauty of that area.

You are welcome. There are so many places in Belize that are incredible. I spent two weeks last May visiting different places (and they are all very different) Caye Caulker, Dangriga, Seine Bight, Placencia, Tobacco Caye and AC. I loved them all but know that I have only scratched the surface. It might take several trips a year so I can see everything!

You sure have that right, Islenutt ! We've been there 5 times and haven't seen half of it yet. We rented a car one year, nice tour of the country but, also had to stop once in a while to stay in areas to touch base with friends we have met along the line. Keep Travelin...Belize has it, if you like it. We love it.

I stayed at Five Sisters Lodge in November. It was very beautiful and serene. The cabanas are the tropical jungle style and very comfortable. One small note: last year the pine beetles started eating all the pines. For miles and miles around, including all the lodges in the area, the pines are stripped bare of their needles. It has been devastating. So for the drive up to Five Sisters be prepared for this. The way the resort is faced though, it won't affect your view or your stay there.

Thanks for all the info everybody! Have been without computer access for days - AHHHHH! We got almost 3 feet of snow this weekend, miserable boring cold weekend.
Looks like I'm going next week if all goes well. 3 nights at 5 Sisters and 4 nights in San Pedro at the Holiday. Can't wait!!!!!!!! Will post a trip report when I return.
