just wanted you to know that i was thinking of you this weekend...since you live & breath fishing stuff!!
alan & i went out on our first ever lake ontario fishing charter to learn how to catch spring brown trout. it was a great experience. the conditions were not very good, as the capt. warned us, but we were really there to learn "how to"...and it was a thrill.
we did manage to land about 5 nice browns...in the 5 to 6 pound size...everyone took one home to eat.
but the big news up this way is the start of the spring salmon season here. apparently this is a stellar year in these parts! best fishing for king salmon in 30 years! the charter that went out before us...in the early morning...brought back 21 king salmon...in the 20 pound range. we got to see the mountain of them being cleaned at the dock when we arrived. these fish are beautiful to behold. the fishers up here are loving may!!!
just wondering if you ever fished salmon here or anywhere. you ought to consider a trip sometime...i know it's not belize...but it could broaden your horizons!!
ok...you'll have to wear several layers of clothing and drink hot coffee instead of cold belikins...but just think of the fun!!
and these are good tasting fish too!
