Does anyone have any suggestions for where to cave tube? I have heard that it is important to pick the right place and tour guide.

Thanks!!!

I looked into the zoo/cave tubing tour using SEArious. I only have one week, so decided to just do Lamanai this trip. I have read on here that the guides must be licensed. SEArious was charging $140 - that was with all entrance fees and lunch included. Sibun Cave Branch area, wherever that may be. Sounds like a fun day! Folks keep saying to be flexible, so who knows, I might still fit this in. Have fun. smile

I was assuming you were meant a tour from AC. If you are going to be somewhere on the mainland - there are probably many other options.

Contact Ian Anderson at Caves Branch - caters to all budgets - fantastic place to stay or just visit for the day

IAN ANDERSON! that guy has gotten nothing but raves on this board. I will make a note of this name myself. Don't think you could go wrong taking Pedro's advice, christa.

I presume you said this because I am incredibly bright and good looking-or are you fishing for a wedding invite.

Hi Christa! Wander on down to Evas Restaurant. Bob will put you in line of the best spots at the best price. If, on the other hand, you prefer prior planning, be sure to get the Lonely Planet Guide. That will give you fine advice. Have a great time. By the by, while you are there, consider staying at Five Sisters, really nice, and (when I was there) economical place. Really economical, and the best darn soup on earth, is Clarissa Falls. Cayo is a good place. Have fun!

I thought christa was asking about cave tubing. For that, I would stick with Ian Anderson, christa - like I said, he has received raves on this board from MANY folks. If Lan sees this thread, he could tell you more. I did find this article on caving with Ian. It also mentions Jaguar Paw and Banana Bank, with websites for all.

IMHO, Caves Branch is the only way to go: http://www.cavesbranch.com

Yep.

Ian Anderson is the best for this. The most experienced and extremely safe.

He has a lot more adventure packages to offer as well.

Make sure you check out the Blue Hole (inland) just across from Ian's, Micheal Bolton shot a video here back in the 90's (yeah!).

If staying on Ambergris Caye, SEAduced by Belize is a very wise choice for Cave Tubing and The Belize Zoo.

And, one could always do it on their own, if they chose, by reading up on Lonely Planet. Why fly into AC then have to turn right around and fly out?

cave tubing on your own?

I don't think so - unless you have a secret long repressed desire to get lost.

I agree...cave tubing on your own is NOT a good idea......I went with SEArious and it was a good trip.....I would recommend taking some sort of small first aid kit though ; ) just in case...

I don't mean cave tube on your own, I mean make arrangements so that you don't have to first come into AC and then fly back to BC.

cuz some think the boat ride back over is fun too...you need not fly, but we understand you now.
