We going to Plancencia in April 5 for 10 days.
Have 2 choices for our vacation stay but because it's our first trip to Belize we still not decided where we want to stay.

http://www.easyliving.bz/index.htm (condos) 1000.00 for 10 days

or http://www.greenparrot-belize.com/ 1200.00 days.

Any experiences, guys?

Thank you

GREEN PARROT IS REALLY WONDERFUL- CAN'T SAY MUCH ABOUT THE OTHER. WE HAVE STAYED THERE TWICE AND THEN WENT BACK THIS YEAR FOR A DAY VISIT JUST TO SEE OUR FRIENDS ON THE STAFF. THE FOOD IS VEY GOOD AND THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT IF YOU WANT SECLUDED. THE ONLY DRAWBACK FOR US AFTER TWO STAYS WAS WE DECIDED IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER TO STAY IN THE VILLAGE RATHER THAN TRAVEL THERE EACH DAY BY TAXI. WE LOVE PLACENCIA ENJOY DUANE&BARB

I've also stayed at Green Parrot and liked it. I've seen the Easy Living place but haven't stayed there.

I agree that if you don't have a car, Maya Beach is a long way from anything farther south ... and a taxi is probably US$15 one-way into the village.

Personally, if you're staying north I'd suggest looking at Barnacle Bill's -- cheaper than either and VERY nice cabins on stilts on the beach, with great owners.

Easy Living Apartments are in Placencia Village while Green Parrot and Barnacle Bill's are in Maya Beach.

Each of them is very nice, so I'd make my decision based on what you want from your vacation -- primarily R&R on the beach or more interaction with local cultures, with easy walking access to local restaurants, bars, gift shops, etc.

If you want the beach R&R, the Green Parrot or Barnacle Bill's are the places for you. If you want more cultural interaction, then I'd suggest Easy Living (or another of the local accommodations).

FYI, the Easy Living Apartments are two-bedroom units, each with air conditioning, cable television, full kitchen, phone and nice verandahs. They're located about 150 feet from the edge of the Caribbean. They're well decorated and managed, as are Green Parrot and Barnacle Bill's.
