Hi Guys--- I'm coming to ambergris in late may w/out reservations--- I read that there is a free phone in the Belize city Int'l airport where you can call the hotels-- is this fact or fiction?? thanks!

Not only fiction, but science fiction. Phones yes. For free, no.

You'll have no problem finding a place in May, but I'd suggest you read Lonely Planet or Lan and get some suggestions so you find a place that suits you rather than just find whatever. Makes life easier to at least book your first and last night, then if you wish, wing it from there. Actually, if you are just going to AC, you could just book the first night, then root around and see what you like. I'm fond of winging it, myself.
