Hello everyone! I have a TON of questions for you all, but one I want to start off for now. Me and some friends are coming to AC on Sept 18th. There has been some discussion about if we need shots or not. So...what SHOULD we do? Tetnus? Hep A? Malaria? We will be there a week. Any info would be greatly appreciated. After I see what response I get....then watch out...I am a question lady! Thanks a ton!!! KJ

The only shots you will need are readily available in the bars on the island. smile

Always a good idea to keep your tetanus shots up to date. even if you stay home.

Been there, done that, the washing machine ate the T-shirt

These guys probably all know what they're talking about, but I'm the "why-taka-chance" sort. So, as our insurance covered them, we got hep-A, and boosters on our tetnus and MMR (measels, mumps, rubella.) we're coming for two weeks and will be in the jungle some, as as I am waaaaay prone to mosquita bites, we also got the anti- malarial pills (Chloroquine 500 mg). Took our first one last weekend - no problems at all w/ side effects.

Sounds like chances are in your favor, but again, why take 'em when ya don't have to - especially if you've got insurance which will cover it.

Flight out tonight!!!! Huge Grin!!!!! laugh

If you are going to get your Hep A anyway, why not get the Hep A & B cocktail?
