Yes, Martha's is a good place to eat, and if you need a clean, cheap place to stay in town that's the place. Try to book in advance and ask for the big room with TV and private bath! If you want to eat cheap, wonderful local food go to the OLD bus station, they moved it recently, and you will find a small hole-in-the-wall eatery with absolutely fantastic food for $5 to 7 BZE across the road. Another fun place to visit is the Culture world club, live reggae music some nights, ask around.

I like Serendip, Martha's, and Hodes. And, I stay at Midas Tropical Resort. Walking distance from all these resturants, but away from the noise of town.

I second all mentioned especially Serendib...sri lankan food, nice atmosphere. Inside the mall-thats where Yoli's Pizza used to be but she is moving to the old Cafe Belize next to the mall, well also inside the mall is a sub shop! Wildside cafe is nice and different!

I travel quite frequently on the busses from north to south to west to east. They are the best way for me to travel. Most people in BElize are really quite friendly and helpful. Any traveler should be alert though...things can happen anywhere you go.
