Robert De Niro Vacations in San Pedro Famed Hollywood actor enjoys island's charm - Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me? That's right, Hollywood's famed actor, Robert De Niro, arrived for vacation time in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, last week to enjoy the charms of "La Isla Bonita." While on the island as a guest of Cayo Espanto, De Niro had the opportunity to visit the Half-Moon Caye marine reserve, the world-famous Blue Hole, and other main attractions on the mainland.
Despite the spate of bad weather traversing through Belize last week, De Niro had a great time in San Pedro. Local tour guide Carlos Marin Jr., took him out fishing last Thursday, and the actor had quite a catch during the day. According to the staff of Cayo Espanto, De Niro enjoyed his stay in Belize greatly and also proved to be a wonderful guest, even though the weather was not cooperating.
Nicknamed "Bobby Milk" due to his childhood pallor, De Niro brings an artistic touch to his movie roles, which often makes us want to leave the movie theatre and punch out the first clown we see. From his roles in "The Godfather II" to "Goodfellas", "Raging Bull", "Awakenings", "Heat", and recently "Meet the Parents", he's won an Oscar or two and is one of the best actors ever. Due to his inspirational acting roles, De Niro is chiefly responsible for bringing that world famous little line into everyday vernacular- "Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me?" Because of these traits, he is considered to be one of America's finest character actors. He has done so much with such diverse roles that he has the enviable position of being linked with some of film's most memorable characters such as Vito Corleone in The Godfather, Part II, Al Capone in The Untouchables, and Jake La Motta in Raging Bull.
De Niro was born in New York, NY, on the 17th of August, 1943, to a family of artists. His father, Robert De Niro Sr., was a Greenwich Village abstract expressionist, while his mother, Virginia Admiral, was a painter. As a young boy, he was very shy and rather than playing with the other children in his Little Italy neighborhood, he preferred reading novels.

There is only one cure for baldness. It was invented by a Frenchman. It is called the guillotine.

He's back! Leonardo DiCaprio arrived in a charter flight to San Pedro on Monday, November 15, to spend vacation time at Cayo Espanto once more. Our readers will recall that the famed "Titanic" actor arrived as a tourist in San Pedro only about 3 months ago, on August 20. "Leo" was then accompanied by girlfriend Gisel Bundchen, a Victoria's Secret supermodel. While staying at Cayo Espanto, DiCapprio and his female companion had the opportunity to visit the world-famous marine parks of Lighthouse Reef, the Blue Hole, Hol Chan and Shark-Ray Alley, well-known for pristine snorkeling and scuba-diving. DiCaprio's visit to San Pedro, Belize, places him on the list of other famous celebrities who have visited the island as tourists, including Harrison Ford, Jimmy Buffet, Benjamin Bratt, Julia Roberts, Jimmy Carter, Lean Rimes, Cameroon Diaz, Brooke Burke, Snoop Doggy Dog, Lennox Lewis, Tiger Woods, Armand Assante, and most recently, Robert De Niro. This does not include the many celebrities that come from Mexico!
