I am planning a trip to the Western part of Belize and was going to stay at a place called the Trek Stop. Does anyone know about this place? It was recommended by friends and their website looked good so I contacted them. I got a couple E-mails from them and was ready to book 4-5 nights, but now I can't get them to respond to E-mails. Any ideas? They have a phone number but I don't know how expensive it is to phone from US...I am in Maine. If anyone knows about this place, could they please tell me if there are other ways to contact them besides the one E-mail address on their website? Thanks, Chris

Probably not their fault.

I note that their email address is @btl.net. BTL has been flushing email on and off for weeks, causing a lot of problems for some resorts.

1. Try their contact form at http://www.thetrekstop.com/info.htm This may (or may not) bypass BTL.

2. Call them. It won't cost that much.

Yeah, blame it on BTL, not on the Trek Stop. It's a nice place (though the cabins are TINY) and the owners are good folks.

I'd just call them. It'll cost you a few bucks but you'll have the peace of mind of knowing you have a place to stay.

yup, those lil cabins are indeed little - so if you tend to be claustrophobic, it might not work....I suspect they might be a tad on the warm side too.

Easy to get to, though.
