Ahhh I am returning to my favorite chat board once again and turning to my favorite ppl here, who enjoy the beautiful country of Belize!!!!!!

Well, I am getting married this summer and if you can make it to South Dakota and wanna come then by all means you are invited! email me at sweetlilbigheart@yahoo.com if you really want details...or just wanna congratulate me....teehee....jk!

Ok well my question is: " Should I have my honeymoon in Belize?" This question is aimed at those of you who know my story! And NO my man is not Belizean...he is LAkota and he finds it offensive that I want to take him to a poor country since he grew up with dirt roads and no plumbing.
I am trying to explain to him that most of these destinations we are looking at are poor...that's why tourism is so big because its the main income! Is this not true??????
I mean when I went before all those times I did not want to be seen as a tourist and avoided the resorts and such but I did check them out and wished to experience their luxury....ssssh....u didnt hear me say that though!!!!!
So post away please because your arguments will be shown to my honey! I had origionally wanted to do the honeymoon rapel into the cave at Caves Branch but then considered Jaguar Reef. There is another one up in Cayo/BelMopan area way back on a long dirt road but I cant remeber its name.
We cant do too much walking cuz he has diabetes and his foot is bad off but I thought biking through the jungle would be fun as well as lounging the beach...which he wants to do!
Your advice is appreciated ggre :p ately!!!!!!!

ok sarasmile... here's my humble opinion and please don't take it the wrong way.

First of all I would remind the Lakota of his Sioux roots. Remind him where his forefathers such as: Chief Rain In The Face, a Hunkpapa Lakota and Sitting Bull, leader of the Hunkpapa and how they spent their honeymoons and where they lived.

You said he finds it offensive? Belize and the jungles are totally different and in some respects MUCH better than where he lives now.

Since he has diabetes and a bum foot, have you asked him where he would like to go?

I know this sounds curt and unsympathetic, but it's not meant that way at all. I hope you understand and take it in the way it was meant. But no matter where you go... have a GREAT honeymoon and marriage!! eek
