Starry... you're partially correct on your posting. The initial problem was that when the originator of the posting made the first post about this... it might have been better to advertise it as:

Announcing the 1st San Pedro Jazz Fest
Charitable Event - All Proceeds to Island
Rendevouz Restaurant Presents

See the problem was the poster left out a very important key... it is a charitable event. People shouldn't have to try and ask questions about an event... it needs to be properly announced.

Denny, you are awesome! I think I need to borrow some meds, I'm about to take my 2 1/2 y.o. on a plane!

Starry, I think you took something way too personally, there was "general chat" that had nothing to do with putting you down. We just got sidetracked, it happens. I think the San Pedro Jazz Fest will be awesome. Hats off to Glen and Colleen for hosting it, and to you for posting this event. I'm sure it will be a wonderful success, so smile!

TQ- we should consider announcing a formal date for our stands, it seems this is the place for publicity wink

Now I'm off to a different island <boo hoo>.

Oh, and Law, thanks for the great posts, you are gifted!

Denny, as I actually stated in my first post for those that require more information to PM me as we only have the roots of the festival.

I believe the post was intended to create a talking point amongst people (surely what a forum is for?), and obviously that is the reason for a posting in the general chat area "to generate discusion" however, unfortunately it got sidetracked and some people went a bit crazy myself included, but regardless of where it was posted it was not the media to bring personal vendattas in to the open but lets not open a can of worms again.

The first poster only had partial information so in all fairness there should be no blame associated with his post it was done for the benefit of the festival as a whole WE then had to JUSTIFY it.

I din't take anything personal I felt compelled to defend my workplace and my employers which I hope each and everyone of you would do for your respective employers.

But once again I thank those that are supportive of this event, once the realisation of its true nature is please try and make it a special occasion for us all and if your up for it your welcome to have a stand there will be alot of people over the two days and you will help many worthy causes all the same.
