FYI, a few new developments at the Inn at Robert's Grove in Placencia:

* The Frackmans have bought the property just to the south of the existing resort. That's added 200 more feet of beachfront. They are building two new "haciendas" with a total of eight new super-deluxe units, half three-bedrooms and half two-bedrooms. These are expected to open in December 2004.

* They've built four new cabanas on Robert's Caye, about 10 miles off Placencia. These cabanas are "Bora Bora" style, partly over the water. They're a first for Belize, if I recall correctly. They're continuing to offer stays on Ranguana Caye also, and they'ved added bathrooms to the cabins there.

* They're adding horseback riding at Little Bill Hill Ranch near San Roman village -- 1800 acres with 20 miles of cut trails.

* Room service is now offered at the main resort.

Lan, I thought I would ask...Didn't Little Water Caye have over the water cabanas? Maybe not Bora Bora, but they were out there. We stayed in them before Karl sold or lost them to a hurricane. We loved it there, too bad it's gone, but back to Roberts Grove. Yes, they will be the first on Placencia anyway

You may be right about Little Water. I was never out there. Seems like there is another island that has an overwater cabana, but it's not a resort.

The St Georges Hotel on St Georges Caye also had over water cabanas. Not sure if they are still there since the last hurricane. Katie, you know?

St Georges Lodge, thatched cabanas built over the lagoon. They primaruly only sell high end dive packages. I will take this sec to to ask you to give Pleasure Island (was Cottage Colony on St Georges) a second look. Bowman family is doing a good job if getting it up and off the ground.
