Sure I know how to get to Houston. I route through there all the time. (is there a punch line?)

Oddly, about a year and a half ago, some pretty in-the-know people mentioned to me the very real possiblity of a new town 15 or so miles north of SP...no time frame discussed.
And, if you think about it for a bit, it starts to seem like a believable concept.

I've seen in-depth plans for a "town" just north of San Pedro ten years ago. Not to far north, perhaps 4 to 5 miles up. I think the developer is in a Federal Pen somewhere in the US. Many more plans have fallen apart over the past decade.
Funny thing is, Belize as a country has been seeing folks with full breifcases (some with good itentions) and empty bank accounts for years. Even coined a phrase "Bigga circus come da town an bruk up". Pretty easy to self translate.
On the other hand, seeing how this small island has exploded in just the last three years it is very easy to forsee some sort of developement up north. It's got to happen someday, just a matter of when. Just imagine thinking back just 5 years ago and someone telling you, "In a few years there will be a pizzaria, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and a ton of more hotel rooms up there as well as a golf cart road 7 odd miles up the coast." We would have said they were crasy too? No true?
I just hope it is planned with more foresight than other parts of the island. The Gov't in that respect has surveyed a wide road all the way up north with only one problem area with a certain resort in place which was built a long time ago.
Denny is correct, if you are counting, the elec. comes from the mainland power grid via underwater cable. Mexico contributes to the power grid including Mollejon (when it works) and generators.
Hmm....nothing has changed after posting this?

Hmmmm... 4-5 miles north? That would put it smack dab in the middle of our house. Sure glad that didn't pan out.

Thanks SIN, I thought it did but wasn't sure. KC, but on the positive side, they could have moved your house back a few feet, then you would have had a great view of the water AND a front row seat for the activities on the Paisano Parkway.
