Denny - You are so right about keeping baggage to a minimum. I hope to keep our family limited to one carry-on bag a piece. Grab the bags out of the overhead on the plane and no waiting at the baggage claim area. You sure get a head start through customs!
We'll be there in November!

This is what Mr Malibu and I do now. You don't need all that garbage.....5 kinds of shoes, matching outfits, blah blah blah...... Just throw a pair of flip flops on your feet and lets go! And a hairdryer? Don't even bother....the sea breeze and/or ride in the golf cart is going to mess up your 'do' anyway.

and Pam, don't forget to fill out the declarations paper the minute you ge them... when everyone starts to stand that's your clue to grab your bags and run... when you get on the tarmack there is usually a guy there pointing the right way... go for it! An ice cold beliken awaits you at Jet's if you have the time. eek

Thanks Denny - You are the greatest! The declarations paperwork will be filled out! You have done this enough times to know how to expedite the process.

you're right Malibu... absolutely right. I've seen people arriving that I thought was moving in... Other tips... leave the really nice clothes at home... there's really no place on AC to wear them... Guys, don't even think about a suit... wear a jacket and you'll stick out like a sore thumb. leave jewlery at home... no one will be impressed by your diamonds or your husbands pinky rings. No one cares. Cologne and perfume attracts the horny mosquitos. eek

Very good advice Denny..... cologne and perfume and jewelry are no good. Also, this year I went without my purse, if you can believe it. Ladies you will appreciate this: I made (asked nicely) Mr Malibu carry MY stuff in his wallet and pocket! Ha hahahahaaahaha...laugh......!!!! It was GREAT! Only time I missed the purse at all was when I met a fellow animal rescuer and wanted to give her a card...all cards were in my purse in the states.

Don't forget to take a fair sized bag full of money!
All will go very smoothly for you.

No purse? I am trying to think if I can manage without it... as long as I had a small pouch or something like that for my $ when I'm out shopping. My husband could carry the $ most of the time - but I like to "ditch" him once in a which, so I'll need a little bag of some sort. No purse! What a wonderful thought. I can't remember the last time I wasn't hauling around that big old thing on my shoulder. I just might try leaving it at home!!!
