We are going on vacation soon. We spoke with Expedia. They want to book us with Belizean Shores Hotel in San Pedro, Belize. How far is that from Belize City Airport? Also we'd like to know by what modes of travel is available for those locations. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Belizean shores hotel is a nice place to stay. they have a great pool. It is located on an island of the coast of Belize called ambergris caye the town on the island is called san pedro. you can take a plane from the airport to the island or you can travel by boat to the island but it takes about an hour and a half.

My vote will always be take the plane... either one Tropic or Maya Island... 14 minutes versus 1.5 hours by boat. eek

Yes, go by plane. Make sure to grab one of the six seats on the right side of the isle when flying out here. The view of the reef is fabulous!

Agree Denny, Belizean Shores is very nice. Good people and a great restaurant. Actually, the place is almost as nice as where I am at :-)

Pam&Jerry, Belizean Shores is a lovely place, a beautiful beach area, fabulous pool and a very nice condo. The question for you is, do you want to be easily accessible to town and nightlife?

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

if you want easy access to town and things to do in the evening, I recommend staying north of the cut. Belizean shores is far and if you stay out past 10pm on Sun, Mon, tue, thur you will have to hire a private water taxi to take you back and the other three nights there is one at 12am and 2am.
there are several beautiful places to stay north and south of town before the cut.
