I spent the summer on Caye Chapel in 1975 when I was 6 years old. We (my parents & I)started off on Ambergris Caye but at that time the beach was a mess with lots of glass, etc. so we moved to Caye Chapel, where we rented a small house for several months. When I went to Belize 4 years ago we flew over Caye Chapel and I couldn't believe the change! My how time flies!

I was in Caye Chapel as a kid also. Our friends had a boat where us kids stayed. My dad stayed with our friends parents in a house on the beach. There was a small hotel there at the time. I went back recently and it sure has changed. Wish I had an extra 55 million under the mattress

Yes, all that really was there at the time was a small hotel and some small scattered houses around the caye.

Actually Caye Chapel at 55 Million US is priced much cheaper per acre than land on Ambergris Caye! Proof? A 100 x 100ft non-beachfront lot 2 miles from San Pedro Town in a residential area might sell for around 60k. There are 4.4 100 x 100ft lots in 1 acre. That means each acre of non-beachfront on A.C. is $264,000US. Caye Chapel is for sale for $207,000US an acre. And! it has miles of beachfront and is landscaped and has many gorgeous buildings.
