I would love to go to Costa Rica, but I'm not into surfing at all, so i'm not sure what areas to go to.

Jaco Beach is touristy....but not as bad as Tamarindo.......if you want to get out and way go to Quepos, or Zancudo....and if you really want to see the rainforest and get away from the tourists go to San Vito...the haliconia capital of Central America.

LACYSBEACH.....In august of 2005 I was fortunate enough to take a tour of southern Costa Rica. My guide was an ex-pat who has lived there for 15 years. We toured from San Jose to Jaco Bay, Domincal, Quepos, through to the Osa Penninusla, Golfito, Zancudo, Neilley and finally to San Vito. From there we finally crossed the border into Panama and visited Volcan Baru....which doesn not even resemble what you would think you would see in Panama.....anyhow....San Vito is in the high mountains at the crest between the Pacific and the Caribbean. The Wislon Botanical Gardens are there, as well as large populations of Toucans and Howler Monkeys. San Vito is a small town not quite as large as San Pedro. Half the population is ex-pats and the other half are natives. It is by far one of the most beautiful parts of Costa Rica I have ever seen. I sent Marty some pictures a month or so ago...and if you ask him I'm sure he will share those with you.....I do not have a website so I can't put them up for you on this Board. A lot of Americans and Canadians live there and it is a very quiet, but social community....it is 30 miles north of Panama in South Central Costa Rica. A personal frined of mine has recently built a new home there (he loves San Pedro too) but the quietness and natural beauty of San Vito is hard to beat. The San Vito area in Costa Rica is untouched by tourism.

How long will it take from Texas,i.e. from Brownsville, to San Pedro if a road was built down the Corona Freeway tomorrow? a guess??Of course you have to consider the pay off schedules and bribe times, but just a guess..and all the mosquitoes..Just Kidding!!
