Hello all. Coming to Belize for the first time in May. Staying in AC for a week then inland. Right now we are booked for Maruba Spa. Anyone ever stay there or have any thoughts? We here nice things about Jaguar and Chaa Creek. Should we change reservations. Let me know ASAP. Thank you so much. Also, how are the mosquitos as Maruba compared with the other places?

Never stayed at Maruba but I drove past it a couple weeks ago on my way to Lamanai and I remember thinking, Wow, this is really out in the boonies for a nice place. We were in Belize for two weeks and found the mosquitos didn't necessarily depend on where you were but what the conditions of the day were. Take lots of spray, a good deet content. A windy day, you won't need it. A still, humid day you probably will expecially at dusk, dawn, and when you are in the jungle. They weren't bad but they were there.
