There was some discussion a few weeks ago about protesters causing some problems because of the new taxes, etc.

Is it still a problem? Should tourists to the mainland be concerned about where they go?

We were planning a visit in April and don't know whether to wait a few more months?

I believe that Belize is still safer, and probably will be for a long time to come, than a drive to your corner store. Everyone here knows how much tourists mean to our economy and will still treat you with open arms.

Yes, there are some minor inconveniences like the water being shut off every now and then but other than that all is well. It may take some time to work out the details between the unions and government but it will happen...eventually.
