Oman, Belize establish diplomatic ties
NEW YORK — The Sultanate and the Republic of Belize in the Central Latin America have decided to establish diplomatic relations between them at the level of ambassadors.
The joint statement establishing diplomatic relations between the two sides was signed on the premises of the Republic of Belize’s delegation here yesterday.
It was signed by Fuad bin Mubarak Al Hinai, Sultanate’s permanent representative at the United Nations, and the Belizian charge d’affaires at the United Nations. Al Hinai asked the Belizian charge d’affaires to convey the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to the president of the Republic of Belize, its government and people along with His Majesty’s best wishes for prosperity and His Majesty’s hopes that the establishing of bilateral relations would open up horizons of cooperation in various fields. The Belizian official asked Al Hinai to convey the greetings and best wishes of the Belizian president to His Majesty the Sultan, hoping that the newly-established bilateral relations will develop in the interest of the two peoples. — ONA
