Institute for Nutrition of Central America and Panama, (INCAP).

This year's meeting is being discussed under the theme: "Investing in
Health within the Framework of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)."

management for the Prevention and Control of Dengue in the countries,
Water and Sanitation, Nutrition and Food Security, Social Security
Services, Occupational Health and Safety, as well as the management and
prevention of HIV/AIDS.

This forum dates back to 1984 when all Central American Countries
realized that similar health problems existed in the countries and that
diseases cross borders. Consequently, collaborative strategies were
necessary to address these public health issues.

Last year the Minister of Health Belize received the presidency from the
Dominican Republic and this year the presidency will be handed over to
Guatemala. The Social Security Board of Belize also serves as the vice
president for the current period.

This event is being organized by the Ministry of Health in collaboration
with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Belize and the
Social Security Board (SSB). PAHO also serves as the technical
secretariat for the RESSCAD meeting.
