Great photos!!! Now mind if I ask some questions? My husband and I are desperately trying to decide between Mopan River Resort and Cave's Branch. I'd love to do one of the tours only Cave's Branch offers but at the same time I think Mopan sounds wonderful in a lot of other ways, so nice that it's all inclusive as well. Ahhh, decisions!

BelizeItPlease,

Mopans grounds and gardens are beautiful (hence many flower photos) and there are many species of birds, including Sheila the Toucan. She is wild, but can be coaxed to take papaya bits from a bowl. It took me 6 tries on three successive days, but it was well worth it! I swam in the river with the locals just because. The Mayan ruin trip to Cahal Pech was very interesting. (If you have a chance to go anywhere with the guide named Francisco, you'll have a good time...please say hello for me!) We also did river kayaking and cave river tubing (a drive to Caves Branch) with Mopan. The cabanas are well kept. The service is fabulous, you'll be spoiled. Get to know the other guests (we still communicate with some we met there). Ask Victor the bartender to make you one of those special drinks we developed last April while we were there: Banana, one barrell, cocaonut cream & milk. Yummy.

Thanks for the photos. I've never been to Belize, but your photos are a real incentive to keep it on my destination list.

Have you done a trip report or travelogue of this trip?

Haven't done a trip report, cuz I'm working on my thesis (or supposed to be if I get of the MB!!) But I'll keep it in mind, maybe I can do it over Christmas break.
