Don Corleone, there's another great one on the main street further south than Rasta Pasta but for the life of me I can't remember the name.

im not 100% sure of this but wasn't rasta pasta located on AC like eight or nine years ago. I ate at a restaurant called rasta pasta on ac about 96 or 97, and it was very good Itailan food but the next time we came back someone told us that they had closed up.

Gosh, it wasn't 8 or 9 years ago, was it? More like 5 years, I'd say. After having a bar for a while (in the Shark's pier space, or am I wrong about that?), Rasta Pasta opened in in what is now Blue Water Grill at SunBreeze. Always loved the conch fritters. Then Maralyn moved to Placencia, but I think Hurricane Iris put the kabosh on that location. A while later she moved to Caulker.

Before all that she was in a building that since was demolished to make room for the new Belize Bank on Front Street.

My favorite meal at Rasta Pasta is the curry vegetables and rice (might have some chicken in it too, can't remember).

Rasta Pasta is wonderful.. my husband had pastapesto with grilled chicken and he talked about how good it was for days. But there are a couple of other places to check out. For lunch, you can't beat the shrimp burrito at The Rainbow Bar and Grill. The restaurant sits out over the water. The view is awesome. We had breakfast at The Sandbox and it was very good. We didn't have time to check out Habaneros but will go next time.

My favorites are Bamboo Grill (grilled lobster or Creole fish), Habaneros (Brazilian Porkchop), Rainbow Grill (grilled fish fillet with steamed veggies and baked potato) and sometimes the Sandbox (soup of the day). And for your after dinner espresso and cake... ta daaaaaa (drum roll), Caribbean Colors Art Gallery (my place)located on front street next to the police station. We've just opened Coco Loco Cafe inside the store, open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Your best source for nice strong coffee (we use Caye Coffee) smoothies, fruit sorbet, fruit plates, light snacks and vegetarian food. We are air conditioned, so its a great place to escape to in the afternoon heat. Food for your eyes and your belly.
You guys have probably been wondering where I was at.... I bin bizzy.

Silk - I printed out those recommendations and might branch out the next time I visit Caulker. BTW, I'm coming down on the 15th, and will probably bring friends over to your little island, so if you are craving Hershey's kisses with almonds speak now or go without!

Did that sports bar across Rasta Pasta make it through the summer? A gruff guy and his daughter ran it. Quite a pair.

My motto for this year is 45 and still can't drive.
KLC - I'm always here... I just might not be there... I'm not in the store every day, but I might be upstairs or in my studio, bein busy, or in Belize City shopping for the cafe. Email me with time and place. Bill Thornton and I always seem to be able to hook up when he's here (wink wink)

Wow, NYGal: darn you are good and correct. Big smile from me as I pack to get ready for my upcoming adventure to Panama. I hear that there are parties/parades in honor of Panamanian firemen while I am there! I will fit right in.

Not a restaurant, but the best food I had on the island was from Jolly Roger, the guy with the grill on the beach just a few paces north of Rasta Pasta. Lobster tails, snapper, chicken... all grilled to order.
