From what I seen being here the last few days is more Capt Morgans sales reps on the beach. I think one every 50 ft or so is more than enough. Maybe they aren't all Capt Morgans but that is name I have been hearing the most. My theory is if I want something I will contact you. Don't bug me especially when I am on vacation.

What San Pedro REALLY does not need is.......one more dog! I can punch out (or at a bare minimum act like I am deaf) many a Capt Morgan sales rep but another dog....head shake, that is just what is not needed.

Above all are on the list now ..condo , very good ...Hardware store , lots we need ten more of those ..And of course time share guys we need those like the plague.. now all of them are in the lead .come on locals and sanpedro regulars we need some help on this. how about big black suv /trucks with dark tinted no see in glass windows and boom boxes,blasting out rap. one of my all time island favorites !!we could use more of those.

Oh my god another good one for the list.....last sat night,i watched one miss a kid by a few inches as he was passing a golf cart ,this crazy taxi driver was drunk or just a fast bad driver..

To help solve the Taxi problem, how hard would it be to have a law made that ALL taxi's have what we used to call "speed governors"?A simple thing to install that will only allow taxi's to go up to a certain speed.

Great idea but ,you will have a better chance of seeing the tooth fairy jump out of a plane with reaper in febuary ..but a good idea none the less..

So the road rage taxis could still run carts off the road...but slowly (15 MPH max.)

Re time share reps. Listen to them for 15 seconds. Tell them nicely that you are not interested. Listen for another 15 (they don't particularly stop when you are not interested). Then, in a loud voice, say, "I DON'T WANT TO BUY YOUR DAMN DRUGS, AND I SURE AS HELL DON'T WANT YOUR 10 YEAR OLD SISTER. WHAT KIND OF LOW-LIFE SELLS DRUGS AND PIMPS HIS LITTLE SISTER?". If there are other people around, it will work fine and he'll leave you alone. If there are no other people around, he may beat the crap out of you.

Weather nothing short of jail is going to stop crazy taxis when they need to make money.the island will lose a kid killed by a taxi, quicker than any killed by a croc..

I think we need a 4,000 room resort on Corona Steve's swampland. It should be 1,000 ft high (no need to bring a plane in February). A monorail should take me and the other 8,000 folks to the souvenier shops, that way I could avoid the time share and taxi agony. I think a Vegas sized casino in the hotel would be great and also a few more mosquitos would be nice!

One more thing this island does not need...
We do not need more places like Belizean Shores. They do not let you go, sit at their bar, buy drinks and food, if you are not staying there. One of the things that made this island so fabulous was the open nature of the places. you could enjoy all of the island.

wondering why businesses close? its slow season, and a bar bans you from using their facilities when you are trying to give them your money. Again, i wasnt just going to pop in off the boat and jump in their pool with 17 kids in tow. I was looking for a cold beer and some lunch after snorkelling, no kids in tow.

I dont think we need anymore snobbish, shortsighted, close minded hotels.

I've sat at the Beliz Shor bar and drank, then I sat there on another occasion and drank and ate. Were you by chance trying to use their pool? or were you in the BAR/RESTAURANT, upstairs on the 3rd floor.

We have never had a problem utilizing belizean shores pool/ bar/ or restaurant while not staying there. As a matter of fact one time we were eating upstairs in the restaurant and the bartender from the pool bar asked us to come down to the pool for a swim and drinks if we wanted. We had a great time and have been back several times since (no problem)even though We have never stayed there. Sorry to here about your experience Lara, Maybe new rules or employees

Actually the idea for a drive-in for golf carts is not a new one. A Canadian chap talked up this idea at every bar in San Pedro. Then, while sitting at the Pierlounge around noon, he walked over to the Atlantic Bank and attempted a robbery with his concealed flashlight. Me thinks the Canadian Government flew him back for "evaluation".

As for getting the mud off your golfcart, I was sitting at Papi's one day and right in front of me, about 6 vehicles got washed down as I sat. Maybe that's the San Pedro car wash.

We made it back. Everyone had a great time and the two first-timers were appropriately awed. Great weather, fabulous food and lots of lazy days.

Barb doesn't know me well enough to know I don't hang out in internet cafes - ever. I did however check in a couple of times while waiting for Monkey Business to run my credit card. As for where I did hang out - trip report and a few pics to follow once the unpacking and settling in are done.
