Any one know anything about Tobacco Caye...specifically Reef's End &/or Ocean's Edge? Looks primitive & so awesome!

Tobacco Caye is GREAT.

Both Ocenas Edge and Reef's End are good and are highly recommended.

do yourself a favor and go. Also, when you get to Dangriga to transfer to Tobacco Caye. Ask a taxi driver to take you to one of the local drum makers and purchase an authentic handmade Garifuna drum.

Ignorance is not bliss - where/what is Tobacco Caye from AC? My son is a drummer - he'd LOVE a fieldtrip like this if we can do it within our AC time frame.

Tobacco Caye is south of AC.

But the place where the Garifuna drums are made is in the town, Dangriga.

I am sure you can do a day trip (fly) from AC to Dangriga to experience a bit of the Garifuna culture.

We also have the Garifuna Museum here which is very educational to visit.

When "Orange" ( S of airstrip) first opened on AC, I saw some there, but not the last 2 trips......not sure why. Might be worth an exploration.
