LOANS PROBE GRILLING
Daily Record (UK)
FOUR wealthy Tory backers have been questioned by police probing "cash for honours" allegations.
They include tycoon Robert Edmiston, who Lords watchdogs blocked for a peerage when it was revealed he lent the Tories £2million before the last election.
Belize-based ex-Treasurer Lord Ashcroft, Lord Laidlaw and Swede Johan Eliasch were also quizzed.
Police investigating the three main parties are expected to announce whether charges will be brought later this month.
