K-Z-K - quitcher whining girlie, at least it's not 32 degrees there - hat, mittens, scarf, down filled coat, scraping the car's windscreen to be able to drive......

Long johns under sheer stockings just don't fit with the corporate look, in case anyone was wondering..... wink

lol nova, I am getting all dressed up and having to wear warm place clothing! I know, my mom said it was "mild" and a bit warm lately back where I come from. I was imagining 55 and it is 40! I can't imagine, it has been 6 years since I have seen winter.

By the way, thanks to the damn beef thread I am craving a nice steak dinner tonight, lol!!! Thanks to whoever got that in my head but I haven't thought about it since the trip to the states.

Bob- I know you is just stylin' - pink long johns and all!

ida - your cold is a dry cold and ours is moist from air off the ocean. "Dry cold" is much easier to take: degree for degree, feels a lot warmer than "wet cold" (-20 c is about -4 f.) It's not that we have it so bad right now, but just had a really warm spell for 5 days and the cold is a shock to the system. frown

you could make this one vegetarian, I put lots of diff veggies in it. Just thought I'd share it as everyone seems to love it who tries it.

K's Chicken Cilantro Lime Soup:

3/4 lb. chicken breast
8 cups chicken stock (I use 8 cups water and 8 chicken boullion cubes)
2 limes, cut and squeezed into chicken stock
1 cup diced can tomatos and the juice from tomatos
1/2 cup chopped red or green bell pepper
Half a fresh chili pepper or I guess 1/4 jalapeno would be nice
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 green onions, chopped or one whole medium onion, chopped
1 tsp. minced garlic (optional)
1 Potato
2 carrots
sprinkle ground black pepper salt to taste
1 avocado, optional (sliced and served on top after soup is cooked)

Simmer chicken stock, tomato, Worcestershire, and lime juices with the hot pepper/jalapeno and cilantro.
Add the vegetables to it to cook/boil.

Grill the chicken until cooked all of the way through, then dice into small cubes or strips and toss into soup.

I like to serve with rice on the side and sometimes tortilla strips.
