TODAY’S FORECAST

Sunny skies will gradually become cloudier over Belize
as a cold front approaches the Yucatan peninsula.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

Sunny skies today and clear tonight. But cloudiness
will develop early tomorrow along with isolated
showers early morning. Winds will be southeasterly 10
to 15 kts; but becoming light and variable overnight.
The sea state will light chop at first then slight.

The outlook is for cloudy weather on Tuesday with
isolated showers.

HURRICANE EPSILON AT 05/0900 UTC...IS NEAR 33.8N 36.2W
OR ABOUT
515 NM...WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE AZORES. THE MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED
WINDS ARE 65 KT WITH GUSTS TO 80 KT. EPSILON IS MOVING
ESE 9 KT.
THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 986 MB.

Northwest Caribbean:

IN THE UPPER LEVELS...AN UPPER HIGH CENTERED OVER EL
SALVADOR NEAR 14N89W IS PRODUCING WSW UPPER LEVEL FLOW
IN THE GULF.

WINDS WEAKEN OVER THE CARIBBEAN W OF 75W TUE AS A COLD
FRONT APPROACHES THE AREA. FRONT IS EXPECTED TO STAY N
OF THE AREA THROUGH THE END OF THE PERIOD.

EXPECT THE COLD FRONT TO PROCEED INTO THE GULF AND
EXTEND FROM CENTRAL FLORIDA TO THE YUCATAN PENINSULA
IN 24 HOURS.

WINDS ARE 10-15 KT OVER THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN W OF
80W.

Central Caribbean:

NO MAJOR CHANGES ARE EXPECTED ON THE WEATHER PATTERN
OVER THE CARIBBEAN SEA DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
THUS...EASTERLY TRADEWINDS WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE
THE REGION...WITH 15-20 KT OVER THE EASTERN AND
CENTRAL CARIBBEAN E OF 80W.

AN UPPER HIGH IS OVER EL SALVADOR NEAR 14N89W. EXPECT
CONTINUED WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER THE SEA DURING

Eastern Caribbean:

PATCHES OF MOISTURE WITH EMBEDDED SHOWERS ARE NOTED
MAINLY SOUTH OF THE GREATER ANTILLES FROM PUERTO RICO
TO JAMAICA. ISOLATED MODERATE CONVECTION IS NEAR THE
COAST OF VENEZUELA ASSOCIATED WITH A MID/UPPER TROUGH
THAT LIES OVER THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN.

COLD FRONT CURRENTLY EXTENDS FROM NW FLORIDA INTO THE
BAY OF CAMPECHE. THE FRONT WILL MOVE TO SW FLORIDA TO
BAY OF CAMPECHE THIS AFTERNOON.

A BROAD UPPER LEVEL HIGH IS CENTERED IN THE W
CARIBBEAN NEAR 16N80W COVERING THE AREA W OF 71W.

ISOLATED SHOWERS ARE MOVING OFF COLOMBIA ALONG THE
IMMEDIATE COAST OF E PANAMA.

Central Caribbean:

MODERATE/STRONG TRADE WINDS ARE OCCURRING ACROSS THE
CARIBBEAN TO NEAR 80W THEN WEAKENING OVER THE WESTERN
CARIBBEAN.

THESE TRADEWINDS WILL CONTINUE FOR THE REMAINDER OF
THE WEEK WITH THE TYPICAL TROPICAL MOISTURE GIVING THE
AREA THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED SHOWERS UNTIL LATE IN
THE WEEK.

AN INVERTED TROUGH WILL MOVE INTO THE SE CARIBBEAN TO
THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN BY SAT GIVING THOSE AREAS
SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS.

HIGH PRESSURES AND STRONG TRADEWINDS HAVE COMBINED TO
KEEP CONDITIONS OVER MOST OF THE CARIBBEAN DRY AND
CLEAR WITH MODERATE/STRONG SUBSIDENCE.

THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS OVER THE WINDWARD AND ABC
ISLANDS WHERE SCATTERED SHOWERS ARE OCCURRING.

THESE TRADEWIND CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE WEEK BUT MOISTURE LEVELS WILL RISE

MAINLY E OF 80 W.

IN THE UPPER LEVELS...ANTICYCLONIC FLOW DOMINATES THE
ENTIRE SEA. STRONG SUBSIDENCE COVERS THE AREA EXCEPT
ALONG THE COASTS OF NICARAGUA AND HONDURAS.
