TODAYíS FORECAST

Cloudy skies slowly dissipating over Belize and the
Northwest Caribbean.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

Cloudy skies today with long sunny breaks and tonight
with clear periods. Isolated showers early morning and
afternoon. Winds will be light and east northeasterly
to easterly at 5 to 15 kts. The sea state will be
slight to light chop.

The outlook is for partly cloudy weather with sunny
intervals and isolated showers on Monday.


Northwest Caribbean:

PATCHES OF MOISTURE WITH EMBEDDED SCATTERED SHOWERS
DOT THE SEA ALONG THE COASTS OF NICARAGUA AND HONDURAS
FROM 12N-19N BETWEEN 76W-88W.

EXPECT SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER THE W CARIBBEAN AND
CENTRAL AMERICA W OF 75W DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS
MAINLY DUE TO THE SURFACE TRADEWINDS.

COAST OF PANAMA AND COSTA RICA.

THE REMAINDER OF THE CARIBBEAN HAS BEEN QUITE DRY WITH

YUCATAN PENINSULA THIS AFTERNOON BEFORE MOVING NORTH
AS WARM FRONT TONIGHT.

WINDS WILL BECOME ELY 10-15 KT WITH SEAS 5 FT OR LESS
ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FRONT OVER THE NW PART OF THE
CARIBBEAN.


Central Caribbean:

ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN ELY TRADES ARE IN THE RANGE OF

adjacent to Belize.

TO 31N71W, SW FLOW WILL PREVAIL THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS A
SERIES OF SHORTWAVE TROUGHS ROTATES SEWD INTO THE GULF
OF MEXICO.

A COLD FRONT WILL TRAIL FROM THE LOW FROM NEAR 31N72W
THROUGH THE STRAITS OF FLORIDA TO THE YUCATAN
PENINSULA AND INTO THE BAY OF CAMPECHE BY LATE SUNDAY.

LITTLE CHANGE IS EXPECTED IN THE OVERALL PATTERN
EXCEPT THAT AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE OVER THE NW
CARIBBEAN BEGINNING SUN NIGHT COULD RAISE THE CHANCE
FOR SHOWERS.

LOW PRES HAS FORMED OVER THE EXTREME SW BAY OF
CAMPECHE NEAR 21N95W AT 1011 MB. THIS LOW OR A NEW ONE
THAT FORMS ALONG THE TROUGHS WILL RAPIDLY MOVE ENE.

EASTERLY TRADES ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN ARE IN THE RANGE
OF E-SE 10-15 KT OVER MUCH OF THE NW PART.

Central Caribbean:

LARGE DOMINANT ANTICYCLONE IS LOCATED OVER E CUBA AND
THE SE BAHAMAS WITH RIDGE EXTENDING SW ACROSS THE
CARIBBEAN TO GUATEMALA.

MODERATE/STRONG SUBSIDENCE DOMINATES THE ENTIRE AREA
BENEATH THE ANTICYCLONE.

THE GREATEST CONCENTRATION OF SHOWERS ARE LOCATED NEAR
THE SRN WINDWARD ISLANDS...OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF
HISPANIOLA...AND MOVING ONSHORE INTO NICARAGUA AND
COSTA RICA.

ELY TRADES ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN ARE IN THE RANGE OF
20-25 KT WITH SUSTAINED NE WINDS OF 25 KT WITHIN 110
NM OF THE COLOMBIAN COAST.
