TODAY'S FORECAST


A Cold Air mass is causing strong gusty winds and
stable weather conditions over Belize and the
Northwest Caribbean.

Ambergris Caye, San Pedro and Caye Caulker will
experience for the next 24 hrs:

Sunny skies today with brief cloudy breaks and clear
tonight. Temperature will reach a high around mid 70 F
after midday. Surface winds will be 15 to 25 Kts from
the Northwest. The sea state will be moderate to
rough.

The outlook is for fair and windy and cold weather
Thru Wednesday.

A STRONG COLD FRONT CONTINUES TO PROPAGATE
SOUTHEASTWARD. IT PASSES THROUGH 32N63W TO 25N70W...TO
THE SOUTHERN BAHAMAS TO THE EASTERN TIP OF CUBA. THE
FRONT CONTINUES FROM CUBA TO CENTRAL JAMAICA TO
EXTREME NORTHEASTERN NICARAGUA...AND WESTWARD TO
NORTHWESTERN NICARAGUA...EL SALVADOR AND SOUTHERN
GUATEMALA.

OVERCAST MULTILAYERED CLOUDS AND POSSIBLE
PRECIPITATION ARE NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM THE COSTA
RICA/ PANAMA BORDER TO EASTERN JAMAICA AND THE
WINDWARD PASSAGE.

NORTHERLY WINDS FROM 20 KT TO 25 KT ARE USHERING IN
COLDER AIR BEHIND THE FRONT.

PATCHES OF LOW CLOUDS ARE DRIVEN TO THE
WEST/WEST-NORTHWEST BY MODERATE TRADE WINDS EAST OF
THE FRONT.



Central Caribbean:

A LARGE AND STRONG MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL RIDGE IS
ALONG A LINE FROM NORTHWESTERN VENEZUELA TO JUST EAST
OF BERMUDA.

STRONG SUBSIDENCE COVERS THE ENTIRE AREA EAST OF THE
FRONT.


Eastern Caribbean:

GLOBAL MODELS FORECAST THE FRONT TO CONTINUE TO MOVE
TO THE SOUTHEAST TOMORROW AND EXTEND FROM 32N55W TO
THE EASTERN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND FINALLY INTO THE
SOUTHEASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA.

THE FRONT WILL BECOME STATIONARY AFTER THAT...AND IT
IS LIKELY TO DISSIPATE BY MID-WEEK.

strong northerly winds over Belize.

tonight. Temperature will reach about 70 F after
midday. Surface winds will be 15 to 25 Kts from the
North. The sea state will be moderate to rough.

** MARINE OPERATORS AND OTHER INTERESTS SHOULD
EXERCISE CAUTION BECAUSE OF STRONG WINDS AND ROUGH
SEAS OFFSHORE. **

The outlook is for fair and windy and cold weather
Through Wednesday.

FOR NORTHERLY WINDS FROM 20 KT TO 30 KT AND SEAS FROM
8 FT TO 12 FT WITH THE HIGHEST WINDS AND SEAS SOUTH OF
17N.


Central Caribbean:

BROKEN TO OVERCAST MULTILAYERED CLOUDS AND POSSIBLE
PRECIPITATION ARE NORTHWEST OF 20N68W 14N75W
9N80W...WEST OF THE COLD FRONT WHICH PASSES THROUGH
20N72W TO HAITI NEAR 18N74W.

A STATIONARY FRONT CONTINUES FROM HAITI NEAR 18N74W TO
14N78W AND 10N81W. THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY FROM HAITI TO
THE COAST OF PANAMA SHOULD BECOME DIFFUSE TONIGHT OR
WED. STRONG ELY WINDS WITH LARGE SEAS WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH WEEK THEN DECREASE BY THE WEEKEND.

TRADE WINDS OF AROUND 15 KT DOMINATE MOST OF THE
CENTRAL AND EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA BUT THEY WILL
STRENGTHEN IN A COUPLE DAYS AS THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY
WEAKENS.

THE STATIONARY FRONT FROM HAITI TO COSTA RICA WILL
DISSIPATE SLOWLY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...WHILE THE
NORTHERN SEGMENT OF THE FRONT WILL MOVE OVER THE
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TUESDAY KEEPING THE
CLOUDINESS/SHOWER ACTIVITY OVER HISPANIOLA.

Eastern Caribbean:

TRADE WINDS OF AROUND 15 KT DOMINATE MOST OF THE
CENTRAL AND EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA.

MIDDLE TO UPPER LEVEL DRY AIR COVERS THE ENTIRE AREA.

It will be cloudy to overcast today and tonight.
Temperature will reach upper 70 F after midday.
Surface winds will be 5 to 15 Kts from the East to
East-southeast. The sea state will be light chop to
choppy.

MODERATE/STRONG E TRADE WINDS ARE ACROSS THE AREA WITH
A GALE WARNING OFF THE COAST OF COLOMBIA. GALE WARNING
WILL REMAIN UNTIL SAT MORNING WHEN THE TRADES BEGIN TO
WEAKEN.

IN PLACE...ONLY ISOLATED PATCHES OF SCATTERED LOW
CLOUDS ARE ACROSS THE AREA.

Eastern Caribbean:

THIS IS LEAVING THE REMAINDER OF THE CARIBBEAN WITH
MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES WITH RATHER WARM TEMPERATURES.

STRONG E TRADE WINDS ARE BELOW GALE FORCE...BUT STILL
RATHER GUSTY. NO BIG CHANGES ARE IN STORE FOR THE
CARIBBEAN THIS WEEKEND.
